“I love, love, love, LOVE you. (To be read with imagination and feeling.) Gee, I miss you.”

Dart grouses a bit about the high prices charged by Cleveland stores, but admits that he’s been drawn in by their inflated “sale” prices and is nearly done with his list. He expects he’ll go just a bit over his self-imposed $100 limit by the time he’s purchased the remaining items he needs.

“I wish I could tell you of my daydream last night. It entails waking up in the middle of a hot night, putting on as few clothes as necessary, and going on a long, slow drive until dawn. It could be here or Sunapee. I neglected to mention that you’re in it, but I guess that’s obvious. Not only obvious, but essential.”

He briefly recalls some of their previous long rides, like the time they drove our to Uncle Guy’s lake front property. He knows she remembers, too.

“I love you, Dot.”
